Meet the Staff…

Veterinary Surgeons

Dr Alyson Hardman BVSc MRCVS

I qualified from Bristol veterinary school in 1997 and have worked in first opinion practice in Wiltshire and Surrey since then. Having grown up in Wimbledon, I returned to the area and lived in Surrey in 2000 with my loyal companion, collie X lurcher Haida. Since then we have added a husband (Matt), two children (Jenna and Andrew), 2 more rescue dogs (Scapa and Hania), numerous chickens and, most recently, Hermie the cat (who keeps us all in line!) to our expanding family.

Over the years I have developed a keen interest in acupuncture and pain management, ultrasonography and small animal medicine. I keep up to date through attending lectures and discussion groups and aim to provide a dedicated and personal service.

Veterinary Nurses

Jody Barry BSc (Hons) RVN DipCABT

I always knew I wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse. After school I went to Harper Adams University to study a degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management. This is where I met my husband - we married in 2010 and had our son Patrick in 2012 and daughter Ella in 2015. Since graduating I have worked in small animal practice in the Dorking and Guildford area. I have also lectured part time in animal care courses at NESCOT college in Epsom.

I am a registered companion animal behaviourist and have a diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour and Canine Psychology. In my spare time I enjoy training and working with my Labradors - Ned Kelly, Sky and Stitch. I also have a dopey but loveable Rottweiler at home called Keane, who used to come in to lectures with me for belly rubs from the students!

Veterinary Care Assistants

Matthew Hardman

Graduating from Royal Holloway University in 1998, I joined the Royal Navy as a Warfare Officer. I never dreamt of being involved in the veterinary world until I met Alyson!

Leaving the Navy after over 16 years’ service, I joined the House Vet as Practice Manager in early 2015 and have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!

I enjoy cricket (watching not playing!), music and exploring the great outdoors.

Practice Manager

Laura Rushen

I have been working with animals now for almost 6 years either as a veterinary receptionist or with my dog walking business

I have been with Rowly House Vets for over a year and am loving everything about it. The staff are so welcoming and friendly.

I'm hoping  in the future become a RVN

In my spare time I enjoy walking my own Labrador Sammy Dog. I also enjoy country sports and have been doing it since I was 5 years old!

Claire Green RVN

I always loved animals growing up and after school I got a kennel assistant job at a local veterinary hospital. Once I had finished college, I got a job as a veterinary nurse. The role included out of hour shifts, being on call and looking after a lot of inpatients so I got to experience a lot. I qualified in 2005 and have locumed for various clinics as well as being stationed at a practice for the past 11 years. I am excited to become part of the team at the House Vet and gain new experiences and learn even more.

I live with my husband and 2 children, Harrison and Molly along with our family spaniel Herbie. I also run a cat sitting and small dog boarding service.

Emma Collins

I have just joined the team at Rowly fully after doing Saturday morning work experience with them since 2014.

I recently completed my VCA and am now training to become a qualified RVN!

At home I have two Jack Russel x Yorkshire terriers, a few chickens & a pony! I am also a part time Riding for the Disabled volunteer, and instructor for a riding school.
